OVERVIEW

InterFit was designed to bridge the gap between personal trainers and their clients, offering a streamlined platform to track progress, manage workouts, and foster stronger connections. My role involved shaping this vision into a tangible product, from research and ideation to delivering a functional prototype.
MY ROLE
Conducted user research and interviews to identify key requirements
Designed user flows and a functional prototype
Created a style guide for the product
Developed the UX/UI design for the MVP

The Challenge
In a competitive fitness app market, InterFit aimed to stand out by addressing a niche need: providing trainers with better tools to support their clients while delivering a seamless experience for users. The challenge was to balance functionality and simplicity for two distinct user groups, ensuring the app could evolve with future demands.
Design process

To define the MVP, I conducted surveys and interviews with personal trainers and their clients. The findings provided a clear direction for the app’s core features:
Strategy
Clients valued flexibility, such as swapping trainer-assigned routines for equipment-free alternatives.

App Flow & Prototyping
I mapped the end-to-end user journeys, ensuring seamless workflows for both trainers and clients. Prototypes were tested and refined based on feedback to address pain points and enhance usability.
UX/UI Design
The design prioritized clarity and accessibility, with an emphasis on bold typography, vibrant highlights, and straightforward navigation. This ensured trainers could manage their clients efficiently while users remained engaged with their fitness goals.
Style Guide
A style guide was developed to establish visual consistency, incorporating a motivational color palette, sleek typography, and dynamic iconography to reflect the app’s energetic ethos.
Problem and solution
03
Trainers and clients always seem to deal with clunky tools for scheduling, tracking, and staying in sync. This app pulls everything together in one place, making things way easier and solving those annoying pain points.
Problem
Trainers were having a hard time keeping tabs on their clients' progress and making sure their guidance stayed personal and on point. On the flip side, clients needed a better way to stay connected and access workouts that fit their situation, especially when equipment wasn’t available.
Solution
InterFit steps in to fix all that with features like live 1-on-1 training, organized workout plans, and easy progress tracking. It keeps things flexible for clients with optional exercises and wraps it all up in a clean, no-fuss design that makes hitting fitness goals way simpler for everyone.

App flow
04
I kept the original concept intact and simply mapped out the user flow as a visual reference. The goal was to ensure clarity in how users navigate through the app, focusing on their journey from onboarding to completing their fitness goals. No changes were made, as the initial design already aligned well with the user needs identified in research.

Key Features Designed
05
Key features of the app were carefully designed to meet the needs of both personal trainers and their clients. These include one-on-one live video sessions for real-time coaching, organized workout plans tailored by trainers, and an optional workout feature for clients to adapt based on available equipment. The app also tracks client progress, providing trainers with insights into workouts and diets. A clean, user-friendly interface ties it all together, ensuring an intuitive and engaging experience.
Onboarding
The onboarding process was designed to be seamless and intuitive, guiding users step-by-step to set up their accounts. It ensures quick access to key features like linking with trainers and customizing fitness goals.

Homepage
The homepage provides users with a clear overview of their fitness journey, including progress tracking, upcoming workouts, and personalized recommendations. If there's a live training session, users can access it directly from here, ensuring seamless engagement with their trainer.

Activities
The Activities section offers a detailed view of all upcoming workouts, along with progress updates. Users can also explore optional exercises or modifications tailored to their fitness needs.

Style guide
06
The style guide keeps everything looking sharp and consistent across the app. It’s built around a clean, modern vibe with an easy-to-read font, balanced colors, and simple icons. The goal? To make the app feel effortless and look good while staying super user-friendly.
